EVE Online: Perma Boost Raven
by Cabal on Jul.29, 2009, under General Bitching
This is sort of addendum to my previous post, I had a lot of negative feedback on using capacitor flux coils on the setup. I think most of the confusion revolved around flux coils being confused with capacitor power relays. Both modules have bonuses to to capacitor recharge, but relays have a shield boost drawback, which is counter productive on a active shield tank. Flux coils have a maximum capacitor capacity drawback, which is offset with positive gain to peak capacitor regeneration rate.
The purpose of the fit is to have a Raven that can emulate a Drake’s longevity in terms of time in theater. As to the why, sometimes (always) I’d rather take 5 minutes longer to pop the last rat, then to have to be aligned on stuff, or micromanage boost.

HIGH SLOTS
6 x ‘Arbalest’ Cruise Launcher I
2 x Drone Link Augmenter IMID SLOTS
4 x (Mission specific hardener) Field II
1 x Shield Boost Amplifier I
1 x Large Shield Booster IILOW SLOTS
3 x Capacitor Flux Coil II
2 x Ballistic Control System IIRIG SLOTS
3 x Capacitor Control Circuit IDRONES
5 x Light Scout Drones, Mission Specific
5 x Medium Scout Drones, Mission Specific
In this fit, EVE says I am cap stable at 29%, which is a display bug, as was pointed out by a corp mate, peak cap is at 32-33%. This is actually where it stabilizes for me. If I use any combo of hardeners containing Invulnerability Fields, I will cap out in about 10-12 minutes. Still forever.
Proof is in the pudding in the sense that for mission running, this bird has a sustainable defense efficiency of 527 vs Guristas, and about 500 vs EM/Them using enemies.
